What’s my dream holiday, you ask?
It all starts with an eight hour, overnight, cramped economy class flight out of O’Hare through United Airlines and landing in Lufthansa Brussels Airlines. A non-stop flight to the city of love, but I’ll most likely be alone. I’ll be staying at the Hotel La Bourdonnais Paris with a glamorous view of the Eiffel Tower, the first stop on my tour. While my body clock says it's the middle of the night in Illinois and that I need sleep, my eyes tell me it’s nearly noon and I need to start my sight seeing immediately. My suitcase is full of clothes that won’t make me stick out like a sore thumb. Clothes like skirts and dresses, and blouses, and flats, and scarves, and blue jeans. Just clothes locals would wear in Europe during the springtime. Seeing the Eiffel Tower in person is on the top of my “How To Be A Tourist” list. Next comes seeing the Mona Lisa in the Louvre Museum, where I hit two birds with one stone. Next is the Cathedral of Notre Dame de Paris and the Arc De Triomphe, followed by the lovely Catacombs of Paris. My sim card is going to be full in no time. Of course a trip isn’t a trip without a shopping adventure. From Louis Vuitton Paris to Cazak, I couldn’t imagine not stopping into a shop or two or three. A girl has gotta eat so I’m stopping at restaurants like L'Orangerie, Chez La Vieille, and Princess Crepe for some escargots and some Paris Street food. To top it all off would be crepes or macaroons, creme brulee, or even some ice cream from the convenience store down the road. The trip comes to an end after ten days of touring, shoppings, endless pictures that take up more space on my phone than the ICloud can manage, good food, souvenirs for friends and family, and endless stories to tell. While I’ll be filled with memories to last a long time, I’ll also have an endless amount of laundry to complete during the weekend.
