“Cut down your closet by 25% by asking yourself this one question: “If I were shopping right this second, would I buy this?” If the answer’s no, out it goes.” Unknown
Reorganizing my closet has to be one of my favorite things. It’s nice to look back and see what I bought. It’s also a great reminder to myself that I should wear it before it doesn’t fit anymore. Other than that, it’s just refreshing to get rid of clothes that I don’t wear or don't fit me anymore. I love my closet now that I finally breathe and I just wanted to show you what’s in my closet.
Starting from the top shelf in my closet, I just have some boxes and some of my art supplies. Nothing exciting really. Just some stuff from my good old college days, paint, my camera equipment, and sting from when I made friendship bracelets. Nothing too special
The second row is obviously my clothes. Dresses, hoodies, shirts, leggings, and things like that. They are organized in a specified way though. They go (from right to left) starting with my hoodies/jackets/sweaters, leggings, Torrid, Shein, Gear Tek, Zac and Rachel, Maurices, Lane Bryant, Venus, blazers, random (clothes from brands I only have one of), my swimsuits, and dresses. Any old school shirt that I had is now in a drawer. When it comes to my clothes I’m annoyingly organized. It helps me find my clothes faster and it gives me some sense of relief.
The last thing is the bottom layer are my shoes. Nothing really special, just all my shoes that I switch out from my shoe cabinet for the season. So for now, I have them organized by type. Because my shoe cabinet can’t hold them, I put my knee high boots in the back row, because they’re taller. Then my heels, tennis shoes, and then my flats. I think for obvious reasons.
My closet was a mess before this and I’m so happy about the outcome. I had old bed sheets, bags, boxes with old school stuff, and things like that. I hope this helped people and maybe gave them a good idea on a way to organize their closet. Any clothes that I don’t wear anymore, don’t fit, or just didn’t like anymore is going to be donated to my local Goodwill. My closet feels so empty and clean. I feel like now I need to fill it up again, but I still have my laundry to do.
