“Breaking out? Facemask. Stressful day? Facemask. Stayed up all night watching YT? Facemask.” —Unknown
One of my new favorite ways to relax is by using a face mask. After going through a slew of different kinds, I have my top picks and wanted to share what I thought about these types of masks. Starting with the facial masks I hate the most
I hate foaming masks. I feel like they do nothing to my face to cleanse it. It makes my face feel like sand and I need to start my entire skincare routine over again. Even though this mask is supposed to help clean out dirt and blackheads, I just don’t feel like it does anything.
If I could put this at top with foaming face masks then I would (I can, I just want a longer list). Some people really love these masks, I just can't get behind it. Even though charcoal masks are supposed to draw out dirt and oil, it made my face completely draw and red. I already have a problem with redness on my face, so this didn’t help me in the slightest.
This is more of a texture problem. I’m not a fan of how the gritty-ness of the mask feels on my face. I feel like it also makes my face more red. It’s supposed to clean off the dead layer of cells for new ones to grow in, I just have a problem with texture.
I feel like these don’t do anything other than make my face cold and not in a good way. Gel masks are more for cooling and for people who have dryer skin. It just feels weird to me.
If it wasn’t for my texture problem, this would be swapped with the exfoliating. Even though these don’t do much for my face, I would prefer this one because it’s more relaxing, I don’t do these all the time. I use them for the relaxing and cooling aspect I feel.
I get bad acne, blackheads, pimples and when I was going through all the different face masks, I found out that clay masks are the best for that. The reason why it’s number two on my list and not number 1 is because I’m not a big fan of it when it dries out. Other than that clay masks are definitely one of my favorite types.
Cream masks are always going to be my go to (next to clay) because of how my skin reacts to it personally. For me, it really helps just brighten up my skin and makes it feel refreshed.
Just remember that these are just how to view facial masks and not everyone is going to have the same list as me. With that being said, what are your favorite kinds of masks. Let me know in the comments.
