THIS IS AN OPINION PIECE!
Clothes don’t have a gender or atleast shouldn’t be tailored to one gender/sex. Point blank period. I believe that clothes are just clothes. They’re fabric and a form of self expression. Clothes can tell more about a person than the actual person themselves and that’s something truly amazing about fashion. I can’t tell you why stores and companies section off clothes by gender. Maybe it’s because it’s easier to locate rather than just throwing them around the store. If you’re someone who gets all upset about a man wearing nail polish or a skirt or makeup, then you need some help because they’re are a million things you can be worrying about as a person. If you base your whole life making someone else miserable or wanting to dictate someone else based on what they wear, then please seek professional help. Because that’s the real issue here. I support men in skirts, dresses, makeup and things like that because it has no impact on my life at all. I support women who wear suits, boxers, men’s flannel, girls who don’t wear makeup/get their nails done because again, what they’re doing with their life has no physical impact on mine. It’s really funny because back in the day, things that are now considered “feminie” were actually made for men. Things like dresses, makeup, heals, the color pink, purses, and things like that. So, it’s weird to say that “women wear dresses” when men also wear them. Another thing that doesn’t make any sense to me is why when a girl wears a suit or even buys clothes from the men’s section at Walmart it’s normal, but when a guy buys black nail polish it’s “not okay” and “not masculine?” Just food for thought. I personally believe that people can wear whatever they want as long as it makes them happy. Because what they do with their lives has no physical impact on me. This is something that I’ve wanted to get off my chest for a long time now.
